In response to many requests from customers, Nakaya has produced a range of pen accessories.
Please order these together with your Nakaya pen,
as these accessories are only available for purchase with pen orders,
and are not sold separately. We apologize for the inconvenience.)

- Pen "Pillow"-

Nakaya has produced a "pen pillow" which provides a convenient place to rest your Nakakya pen, especially during writing.
This pillow is made from wood and coated with Wajima urushi lacquer.
This pillow is perfect for Nakaya pens with no clip and have a tendency to roll.

- "象嵌 Zo-Gan (inlaying 'Damascene')style grip section -

   We have reprinted inlaying style on a grip section, a technique which very populer during the golden peroid
    of Japanese fountain pens in 1960's.
    This is a little differnt from a true inlaying in terms of manufacturing process.
    However, the look and feel of quality is of that time.

   ※What is "Zo-gan"?
  Inlaying is called Zo-gan in Japanese.
    In English, inlaying is called Damashene and this word comes from the birthplace of "Zo-gan", a place of
    Damascus city in Syria in the 8th century and came to Japan in the 14th though the Silk road.

   "象"(Zo) means moulding, "嵌"(gan) means setting.
    So Zo-gan means a technology, which for setting a material to different materials.
    Zo-gan, in Nakaya's use is applied with Maki-e technique,  that is why technique does not comply with
    a complete definition of Damachene. However, Nakaya hopes you will recall a golden days by with Zo-gan and
   retro feelings of a grip with an extended shape and looks like a trumpet.

   Please observe ;
    We cannot mount Zogan on a plastic grip such as Briar, Celluloid ,Acrylic body and leather roll model.

A pictured above ;a gold Zo-gan with an elastic nib.
And below is a Zo-gan made from a white sea shell with a flexible fine nib.
The two tone color nib may be suitable for white sea shell Zo-gan.
The diamond shape is the most populer Zo-gan. However it is available with some other design , such as
"allow head" if you allow a little time to complete the process.

Other variations:    The silver (tin) stone finish with green ("Heki") Zogan grip may be viewed here.
                                 Zogan on the Piccoro, and on a desk pen ("Aka tame") may be viewed this sight.

  Caution ; After inlaying of gold,white gold or sea shell plate a craftsman polishes and remove Urushi lacquer ware,
                so these materials (gold,....) expose .
                Please care this part and wipe the sweat and oil of your hand after using the pen in order to prevent
                discoloration especially for seashells.
                We recommend a white gold material rather than sea shell for a white colored Zogan.

White Gold Zogan       $60

Rare White Gold (WG) Zogan.
There are several process to embed this WG plate on curved surface.
This is only made after Zogan order.
The color looks like White sea shell Zo-gan, if you choose WG trims (clip and band..) this Zogan will be suitable,
Likewize, if you have some 'raden' (sea shell) on the barrel, a white sea shell Zogan will match.

- Single Pen (Sword) rack - Horizontal version

The picture is of single step type for one pen use. We have double step type also for two pens use.

The pen on the stand is "Whale and Wave" model which is further presented at the Customer's special order

This is the pen stand with a model sword.

In a double pen type pen stand, you might like to put a sword in one of the pen holders, and
a pen in the other.

- Fountain pen stand -

This is a fountain pen stand, based on a Japanese sword stand.

The stand is in black roiro finish on woodwork.

Even though the cost is more expensive due to the very sophisticated molding shape,a special price
limited to online sale only is offered at $250

- Maki-e converter -

Gold fishes and plant.

Nakaya has produced a maki-e converter which depicts goldfish swimming in the pool (the converter).

The goldfish converter is shown with the Nakaya skeleton (a demonstration model). Depending on the color of the ink, you can see the goldfish swimming in the pen. Of course, you can only see the goldfish through the barrel is with this skelton model.
It is also fun to put these converters in regular pens, and keep the goldfish your little secret!

- Japanese Pen Case - Nakaya calls it a "Fountain pen Yatate" $580

"Yatate" (pronounced Yah-tah-teh) means a "portable writing set" which contains a bamboo brush and ink (sumi) filled with some cotton.
Nakaya has finally imitated this shape and made a Yatate especially for the fountain pen.

The inside of this pen case is covered with soft cloth to prevent damage..
A Netsuke is available as pen pillow. (Material is 'Magnolia obovata').
You can put your name on this case by Maki-e and it will be yourperfect 'pen-Yatate'.

◆Kyoto 'Nishijin-ori' textile Pen pouch $25

Pen pouch made from NIshijin textile.

These pouches come with a purple base (above) or gold base (below).

"Nishijin ori" ("ori"means textile) is
a most famous, highest class cloth in Japan.
Each thread is dyed before weaving with a
technique called "saki-some".

The strings comes from cloth to the surface and gives a gorgeous feeling and volume.

Please ask for a Nakaya "Nishijin pen pouch

This pouch is available for the Nakaya Writer portable (above), shown below is the Cigar long size.
