So you have a choice of fonts.
In the case of Latin alphabets, we recommend using just your first and middle initials
with your full last name because of the small space (eg "K. M. Purcell").
You may also choose Chinese characters (Japanese "Kanji").
If you can explain the original meaning of your family name, we will translate it to
Japanese and engrave it in Chinese characters (Japanese "kanji").
The results can be quite fun.
For example, we once engraved a pen for a man whose name was Mr. Woodside.
This was translated "Moriwaki" (in kanji) on his pen.
Wood means "Mori", and "side" means "waki" in Japanese.
Mr. Woodside was very glad to learn his "Japanese"
name and began to tell all his friends, "I am Moriwaki-san".
He also ordered from us a special "hanko" (seal) engraved with his new Japanese name.
