Tamenuri

"Tame" means "pool" and "nuri" refers to the lacquer coating process. You can actually see through the layers of clear urushi lacquer as if you were looking into a pool. Wajima artists use "ao and midori urushi" (blue color and green color) for the base urushi on the barrel, and "shu-ai-urushi" (mixtures of red and clear lacquer) for the finish coats.

The design on this ebonite pen has been created by Maki-e artists from Kaga using traditional urushi lacquer with a combination of silk screen and hand painting involving more than 5 separate layers.

This shape of this pen is based on the Nakaya "lizard" model, so it is perfectly balanced for writing without the cap posted.
A special 18K gold band with airplane prevents the pen from rolling.

This pen is an excellent choice for business people who travel.

So we recomend Nakaya Cigar and Writer model are suitable for this technique.
