We would like to inform you about an important change regarding our Foreign Retailer in the US.

In 2000s, Nakaya Fountain Pen Co.. Ltd. (“Nakaya”) appointed Classic Fountain Pen Inc. owned by Mr. John Mottishaw as the exclusive retailer for Nakaya products in the U.S.A and Canada. The business with Classic Fountain Pen Inc. in which Nakaya pens were sold through the website “Nibs.com” had been successful.

In April 2021, Nakaya was told that Classic Fountain Pen Inc. was willing to transfer the website and the business of Nibs.com to M2B Pens Florida, LLC. At the same time, Mr. John Mattishaw introduced M2B Pens Florida, LLC and its owner Mr. Emmanuel Caltagirone to Nakaya. In June 2021, Nakaya entered into the exclusive distributorship agreement for Nakaya products in the U.S.A., Canada and Mexico, with M2B Pens Florida, LLC.

Three years later, in June 2024, a reliable third party in the same industry informed Nakaya of the fact that M2B Pens Florida, LLC has filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy and that they have been unable to reach Mr. Emmanuel Caltagirone. In great surprise and concern, Nakaya confirmed the fact that M2B Pens Florida, LLC indeed filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy on May 31, 2024 at Florida Southern Bankruptcy Court. In the absence of any contact from M2B Pens Florida, LLC or its trustee, Nakaya reached out to Mr. Emmanuel Caltagirone for explanation. Nevertheless, unfortunately, Nakaya ultimately had to decide to terminate its business and distribution agreement with M2B Pens Florida, LLC.

For that reason, orders for Nakaya products can no longer be placed through Nibs.com. We kindly ask that you place an order or repair order with one of our authorized retailers or through our online system.
