Writer Portable BAMBOO SERENITY

Bamboo woods motif is expressed with the Aka-tamesukashi technique.  To create depth of bamboo woods and express fine bamboo leaves, draw some bamboos with tame-sukashi technique and making another layer of bamboo drawings overlapping the previous layer using Tame-sukashi technique.
Some bamboos are drawn on the grip section with Tame-sukashi technique.

Writer Portable AUTUMN COLORS

A lot of autumn leaves are drawn with Aka-tamesukashi technique. By making it 2 layers, the result is a deep finish with added depth.
For the grip section, finish of dense sprinkling with gold powders “Nashiji” technique is used and some leaves are drawn on it with Yako maki-e technique as an accent.

Cigar Portable MAPLE LEAVES　

The motif is colorful autumn leaves (Momiji). Beautiful autumn leaves and trunks are expressed using urushi lacquer and gold powder. White urushi lacquer is used for the veins of the leaves, but they look silver because of the underneath gold powder.

Cigar Portable Hagi

We described “Hagi (bush clover)” by the “Yako Maki-e” technique. This motif has many bowstrings so that the contrast of this motif’s edge of the line has also so many. This picture is taken after 1 month from the production. You can see the color slightly changed to red from the edge. As same as “Tame-sukashi” technique, the background in “shu” (red) becomes brighter as time passes. In case of Yako-nuri technique, the main motif (bush clover) is heaped up by black urushi, so this motif shines clearly with bright Shu color as background.

Cigar Portable ASHI

The entire surface of the axis is painted in black on black with reed leaves. The difficulty of this work can be felt in that the motif is black on black, which makes it almost impossible to see the area being painted while the work is in progress.

We tried to express the image of autumn with stacked books and leaves. We made use of the watermark on the skeleton barrel for the sunlight filtering through the trees. The transparency of the light will become clearer with the passage of time.

Nakaya made this motif by “togi-kiri” maki-e technique with silver based lacquer ware to keep an atmosphere of an Indian ink drawing.
This artwork is the first model of “togi-kiri maki-e technique” with silver color.

GOAT SHRINK LEATHER

The fountain pen wrapped with goat shrink leather.
It is designed with a low center of gravity and metals are used to its cover and screws.
*Custimization is available to change the color of clip, pen nib, and metal parts.

The goat shirink leather is called “chari leather” in Japan, named after Mr. Charles Henninger who was an American tanner who promoted Western-style leather in Japan around the begining of Meiji era.
Crumple goat leather tanned with a plants astringency vertically, horizontally, and diagonally many times, to make deep unevenness on the surface. Because most of the processes needs expertise skill, only skilled craftsmen can manufacture it.
“Chari leather” is very rare and beautiful leather unique to Japan, it was used as a material for bags.
