As the Tamenuri background becomes brighter over time, the black lacquered motifs become more apparent.

So, after drawing the fox with Tame Sukashi technique, adding transparent amber lacquer to the entire surface of the motif to create a slightly plump relief shape. Then, splinkleing silver powders to the abdomen and tip of tail to express white fur. Clouds also are drawn with silver powders using Bokashi (gradation) technique. And for Ka-en (A fire flame), also using silver powders slightly mixed up with Shu (dark red) powders, by Togi-kiri Maki-e technique. This Togi-kiri Maki-e technique is used to create a texture similar to sumi-e (ink painting).By using black as the base, the dragon drawn in silver stands out and make a powerful finish.
