Cigar Piccolo AMANOGAWA

The design inspired by the “Milky Way” shining in the night sky is expressed with Raden.
A lots of fine shellfish (Mijin shellfish) of different sizes are used and put them in a spiral pattern with a gradation.
By making the base in black (KuroRoiro), the shine of Raden stands out, creating a finish that looks just like the Milky Way shining in the night sky.

Cigar Portable MANTEN

A starry sky is expressed by scattering small shellfish all over the black (KuroRoiro) base. Then the Milky Way more shining brightly is drawn in a spiral pattern in the starry sky. Also shellfishes are spread all over the grip section to create the feeling of a starry sky.
It has a more gorgeous and glittering finish than “Milky Way”.

Cigar Piccolo HONKATAJI Heki-tame

Since the it is covered with cloth, the diameter will be about 1mm bigger than the original one.
To express “antique” or “old” looks, creat some cracks in the lacquer to reveal the cloth underneath, we create a texture that looks like it has been used for many years.
Because it is handmade, the shape and size of the cracks design will not be the same. Basically, there is one crack across the cap and body, two long and short cracks on the body, and one or two cracks on the grip section. 
≪Please note that, due to the use of colored lacquer made from natural materials, slight variations in the final color may occur.≫

Cigar Piccolo HONKATAJI-BLACK　

This is inspired by “Negoro-nuri”. It is a “Honkataji” finish that applies lacquer in layers after the process of “Nunokise” which is putting a cloth underneath. Since the it is covered with cloth, the diameter will be about 1mm bigger than the original one.
To express “antique” or “old” looks, creat some cracks in the lacquer to reveal the cloth underneath, we create a texture that looks like it has been used for many years.
Because it is handmade, the shape and size of the cracks design will not be the same. Basically, there is one crack across the cap and body, two long and short cracks on the body, and one or two cracks on the grip section.
It is painted the base with vermilion lacquer and on the top with black lacquer so that the red fabric could be seen from the cracks. It is not fully polished finish, but has a slightly less glossy finish to give it a used feel.

Cigar Piccolo HONKATAJI Araishu

This is inspired by “Negoro-nuri”. It is a “Honkataji” finish that applies lacquer in layers after the process of “Nunokise” which is putting a cloth underneath. Since the it is covered with cloth, the diameter will be about 1mm bigger than the original one.

Because it is handmade, the shape and size of the cracks design will not be the same. Basically, there is one crack across the cap and body, two long and short cracks on the body, and one or two cracks on the grip section. Base color is “Arai shu”.

“Negoro-nuri” is one of Japanese lacquer painting technique that applies vermilion lacquer on to the black lacquer applied to the base. The black lacquer underneath sometimes comes up from the vermilion lacquer coatings and looks like patterns.
“Honkataji” is a sturdy piece of work that is coated with a base layer of cloth or lacquer and then applied lacquer.

Writer Portable WILD STRAWBERRY　

Based on Yakou Maki-e technique, we lay out several seashells (Raden).
Though we used many pieces of big shells in abundance and looks gorgeous, this artwork settled down the background kept the entire settled balance by Tame-nuri background.

Cigar Piccolo SHAKEI-SONSETSU

The motif comes from the Shakei-Sonsetsu, a four-character idioms.
It means to study even if one is in a very difficult situation.
The four-character idioms comes from the story that Che Yin, a old Chinese politician read under the weak light of firefly in summer, and Sun Kang, a old Chinese official read with the moon light reflected by snow in winter.

Cigar Long SUIGYO　

A fish swimming slowly in the water is expressed using Raden. The motif is drawn by pasting thinly cut seashells one by one.
A fish is drawn on the cap and a stream of water is drawn on the barrel.
The cool colors, Shobu is used for the base, imagining “in the water”.

Cigar Long SPERM WHALE & GIANT SQUID　

The design on this pen represents a fight between a sperm whale and a giant squid unfolding in the deep sea.

The whale is finished with Sumiko and the squid with Taka-Makie.

This provides a wonderful contrast, which is further accented by a stream of water in Raden.
