Cigar Portable SEASONAL FLOWERS

This is a black Urushi base of previous artwork “Seasonal flowers”.
Many flowers are drawn on this work. Violet(spring), bracken(spring), peony(a beginning of summer), horsetail(summer), bell-flower (from summer to fall), narcissus (from fall to winter), and camellia (winter).

D-17 Portable LONG WISTERIA

This piece features an illustration of “fuji flower (wisteria)”.
The wisteria is drawn with alternating flowers, buds and leaves, using the iro-togidashi technique, providing a glamorous look.

Cigar Portable WISTERIA　

We expressed gorgeous wisteria flowers in maki-e, which perfectly matches the shape of the pen. Different base colors give completely different impressions.

Cigar Portable MAPLE LEAVES　

The motif is colorful autumn leaves (Momiji). Beautiful autumn leaves and trunks are expressed using urushi lacquer and gold powder. White urushi lacquer is used for the veins of the leaves, but they look silver because of the underneath gold powder.
The autumn leaves motif gives a classic and beautiful finish

Cigar Portable ASHI

The entire surface of the axis is painted in black on black with reed leaves. The difficulty of this work can be felt in that the motif is black on black, which makes it almost impossible to see the area being painted while the work is in progress.

Cigar Long KINGFISHER

The motif is a kingfisher flying over a field of reeds.
The base is painted black with a gold gradation from the center outward. By scattering flat gold powder on the top and raden on the bottom, it might look like the starry sky is reflected on the water surface. The kingfisher is vividly painted using colored urushi lacquer and gold powder. The reeds are drawn with gold and black urushi lacquer to give them some depth. The color of the kingfisher stands out against the gold and black, creating a very beautiful finish.

Cigar Long SPERM WHALE & GIANT SQUID　

The design on this pen represents a fight between a sperm whale and a giant squid unfolding in the deep sea.

The whale is finished with Sumiko and the squid with Taka-Makie.

This provides a wonderful contrast, which is further accented by a stream of water in Raden.

Cigar Piccolo SHURO　

A design boldly arranging the palm leaves motifs. The characteristic powerful leaves of the palm are drawn on a vermilion base using silver Taka Maki-e to create hight. Also a palm leaf is drawn with gold taka Maki-e on the grip section.
The bright vermilion color goes well with the silver color of the fan-shaped palm leaves, creating a somewhat exotic finish.

Cigar Long DESERT MOON

An exotic landscape is depicted in maki-e.
This work effectively combines simple techniques.
The ground and the night sky are finished with different sizes of polished gold nashiji ground, and a trading party of camels going through the desert is represented by yako maki-e.
