Description: Background of "Enko-sokuen-zu" As you see, a monkey reached his long hand and tries to get the moon on the reflection pond. This monkey misunderstands the reflected moon as real one and it is called "Enko-sokuen-zu". We can see this picture at 'Konchi-in' temple in Kyoto. (This picture is one of the important Japanese culture heritages. This Fusuma-e (Japanese traditional sliding door ) is wellknown because this was drawn by Tohaku Hasegawa (1529-1610). However the composition itself was transmitted from old China .
