The black base of the barrel is accented with a gold gradient that spreads outward from the center.
Fine gold details at the top and shimmering shell accents at the bottom create an effect reminiscent of starlight reflected on water.
The kingfisher is painted vividly with colored urushi and gold, while the reeds are layered in black and gold lacquer to add depth.
Against the black and gold background, the kingfisher’s colors stand out beautifully.
